is there anyone that likes this rule?
I enjoy this game a lot, but this rule just seems to suck.
1 zombie in a long building will eventually become many, just because it splits every turn.

I think we've thoroughly explored the issue to the point where we're just splitting hairs.

To answer the original question posed by the thread, I think we can safely say "yes", some people do actually like the splitting rule as written. We've also established that several people feel the same way as the topic starter in that they do not like the rule for whatever reason.

I personally wouldn't go as far to say that I think the rule is "broken"; I just find it very odd and completely unnecessary. (Some of us also dislike the possibility of it causing additional activations - churlish or not.)

Whichever stance one takes, it really doesn't matter. If you like the rule then that's great! Enjoy :) If you don't like the rule, then I hope this thread has offered at least one easy alternative: Randomising left-over zombies works great for me as it solves the problem of how to split uneven groups without unfair user manipulation whilst also avoiding the problem of additional unwanted activations. If that house rule doesn't appeal then that's fine; It works for me and might work for others so is worth sharing.

Arguing over whether the rule "sucks" or not, or how much of a problem additional activations are is fruitless: It's either a source of annoyance to the individual player or it's not. If it is a source of annoyance then I hope the alternative ideas contained in this thread are of use.
