Just to be clear:
CMON are selling these "exclusive" models at conventions. They were selling them at BGG-con last year.
They are already "supporting people who did not support the Kickstarter". Now the line is just being drawn between those fortunate enough to have the resources (time and money) to attend conventions and those who don't.
I think folks forget these are just small plastic models. Does it REALLY matter that much who has them and who doesn't?
I disagree the kickstarter was so successful "because" of 3 exclusive plastic models. I would suggest the kickstarter was successful because it had minis and the promise of a cool zombie game.
Feeling cheated? I can understand that. Your points are fair. Perhaps they ought to not to release alternative sculpts...and just keep distributing them via conventions. They will eventually get disseminated around and the longer they do it the cheaper the prices on ebay will be for those who cannot attend conventions.
Does any of the Kickstarter folks feel cheated that they were selling them at BGG-Con?
Peace

It was stated quite explicitly that the exclusive hero minis would be available:
(1) through the Kickstarter campaign
(2) at conventions and public events
(3) until the supply produced in conjunction with the Kickstarter ran out
So, to the sticklers, selling or giving them away at cons is totally within what they said they were going to do.
Personally, I don't care. I understand some folks might have pledged to the KS campaign to get the exclusive extras, and might not have pledged otherwise. For me, I always feel a thing I enjoy should be enjoyed by others. Their enjoyment of it does not diminish my own enjoyment. I don't buy games as an odd sort of investment, so I'm not sweating the resale value of my games going down. If CMON wanted to produce another batch of minis and make them available, that'd be A-OK with me: I've got friends who bought the game who'd jump at the chance to buy those minis.
