There is no leaving bonus, the only thing you can try to do is kill the zombies in the zone, and let the survivors who still have actions use them to move.

Did you remember to deal starting equipment? At the start of the game you randomly deal 1 axe, 1 crowbar and 1 pistol to the survivors. Every survivor that didn't get one of those 3 cards gets a pan. So with 4 survivors, 3 of them would get either a pistol, axe or crowbar and the 4th would get a pan. With 6 survivors, 3 of them would get a pan.
